Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce a damage of a rotor for an induction motor due to thermal stress by providing longitudinal hollow parts in the boundary between a rotor core and annular conductors mounted at the outer periphery of the core, and hermetically sealing a heat pipe operation liquid in the hollow parts, thereby improving the cooling of the bar. CONSTITUTION:Thermally conductive hollow parts 17 extending along the longitudinal direction of integral annular conductors 6 having slits 9 are formed in the boundary between the conductors 6 and a rotor core 7 in a squirrel-cage rotor in which the integral conductors 6 having slits formed at the outer periphery of the core 7. A heat pipe operation liquid 19 is sealed in the hollow parts 19 to form heat pipes. In this manner, the heat produced at the conductors 6 can be rapidly transmitted to the core 7, so that the temperature difference between the conductors 6 and the core 7 is reduced, thereby reducing the thermal stress.
