Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the reduction in the limiter operation and the production of spurious component, even if the amplitude level of an input high frequency signal is increased, by obtaining the limiter operation through the change of the transfer characteristics of a 4-terminal hybrid circuit. CONSTITUTION:A 4-terminal hybrid circuit HYB such as 3-dB coupler and lambda/4 hybrid ring has an input terminal A, 1st and 2nd output terminals B and D, and an unbalance absorbing terminal C. A diode 5 is connected between the output terminal D and a common potential point. A bias circuit applies an opposite direction DC voltage with a prescribed value to the diode 5. The HYB is provided between the input terminal A and an input of an amplifying circuit at the final stage and the balancing condition of the HYB is controlled with the impedance change of the diode 5 due to the amplitide level change of the inputted high frequency signal to change the transfer characteristics to the inputted high frequency signal, allowing to obtain the limiter operation.
