Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform accurate positioning control, by measuring the backlash amount by means of a machine tool intself and then compensating the backlash amount which is set based on the measured value of the backlash amount. CONSTITUTION:The contact caused between an object to be worked and a reference tool by a shift of the object to be worked is detected. Then both the object to be worked and the reference tool are moved in the direction where they are away from each other. The extent of shift of the object to be worked at that moment is defined as the backlash amount. A counter 76 stores the advance pulse -Xp of the object to be worked corresponding to the backlash amount. The counting value of the counter 76 is read into a storage circuit 66 at a time point when an interruption signal is produced. This interruption signal is supplied also to an interruption controlling circuit 68. The backlash amount is always used as the value of compensation by the control of interruption done by the circuit 68. As a result, the storage information of the circuit 66 is fetched into a CPU70 to drive a shaft driving circuit 78. In such a way, the backlash amount is always compensated to ensure the working with high positioning accuracy.
