Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent stripping and foaming by coating a specific acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive compsn. on the surface of a polarizing plate having a transparent protection film at least on one surface of a polarizer thereby providing an adhesive layer. CONSTITUTION:A polyvinyl alcohol film is immersed in a treating soln. contg. iodine and is stretched uniformly to 3-3.5 times at 50 deg.C. This stretched film is rinsed and air-dried, whereby an iodine polarizer is obtd. Acrylic polymer resin solns. are coated on both surfaces of such polarizer, whereby protection films are provided and an iodine polarizing plate is obtained. A compound of 90pts.wt. ethyl acrylate and 5pts.wt. acrylic acid is polymerized in toluene, and 1pts.wt. of polyisocyanate is added to this, whereby an acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive compsn. is obtd. An adhesive soln. compounded with 0.2 part org. silane monomer having functional groups in said compsn. is coated on the surface of the polarizing plate, whereby the adhesive layer is provided, and the pressure- sensitive adhesive type polarizing plate free from peeling and foaming is obtained.
