CONSTITUTION:A variable set point of a setting unit 47 is set as a value suitable to a warp A to be wound. Then, warp-winding operation is started by depressing a starting pushbutton. A speed detector 46 detects the running speed of the warp A and feeds to a control unit 48 the detected value in proportion to the running speed. The control unit 48 compares the dtected value with the valiable set point and controls the transmission ratio of a none stage transmission 9 so that the difference may be brought to naught. Therefore, a drum 1 gradually increases its speed until the running speed of the warp A reaches the specified speed, and the speed is maintained after having reached the specified value.
