Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the profiling controlling device surely capable of profiling total periphery by a method wherein pulse generators for detecting the displacements of X- and Y-axes are respectively provided on the drive shafts of X- and Y-axes and individually connected to up-down counters in order to discriminate the form of a profile model and to detect the finishing point. CONSTITUTION:The X-, Y- and X-axis displacements of the tip of a stylus 11 are detected through differential transformers 12, 13 and 14 when the tip of the stylus 11 comes into contact with the profile model and supplied to a microcomputer 19. The microcomputer 19 controls the speeds of X-, Y- and Z-axis motors 7, 8 and 9. The pulses outputted through the pulse generator 28 from a X-axis speed detector 25 are counted with the counter 30 and the pulses outputted through the pulse generator 29 from a Y-axis speed detector 26 are counted with the counter 31. When the counted values of the counters 30 and 31 become zero, a signal telling the finish of profiling of the total periphery is sent to the microcomputer 19 from a simultaneous zero detecting circuit 32.
