Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure the flow velocity of various conductive fluids at a high accuracy free from effect of zero-variations with temperature changes by deriving a temperature compensating signal from output signals of a plurality of detection coils. CONSTITUTION:A.C. signals are applied along the flow F of a conductive fluid to be measured to a detection section 10 provided with an exciting coil WEX and detection coils WD1 and WD1 therenear. This detection section 10 is used to determine the flow velocity of the fluid being measured based on signals of a difference between output signals of the detection coils. In this case, a signal e7 for temperature compensating corresponding to a temperature coefficient of a signal e4 of a difference between the output signals of the detection coils is obtained from a change in a signal e3 of the sum of the output signals of the detection coils. This signal e7 is used to effect temperature compensation for the signal e4.
