Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable high accuracy and high speed conversion to be made and to simplify the circuit constitution, by optimizing a sample hold of a triangle wave voltage and omitting a pulse generating circuit requiring a time constant circuit. CONSTITUTION:An input signal fIN given to an input terminal 20 is waveshaped 22 and becomes a trigger input T of a T-FF24. An output of the FF24 is inverted in synchronizing with the pulse leading edge and the inverted output activates a sampling circuit 26. That is, a rising voltage of a triangle wave voltage generated by a triangle wave generating circuit 30 is applied a holding capacitor 28 and the charging voltage of the capacitor 28 is charged or discharged in response to the output of the FF24. The charging voltage of the capacitor 28 and the triangle wave voltage are compared at a window comparator 42 and when the difference of both voltages is moved within the window width very narrowly set, a pulse is generated from the comparator 42 and the FF24 is reset. Further, this frequency-voltage conversion output is given with the charging voltage of the capacitor 28 and outputted from a terminal 50.
