Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a solenoid focusing type cathode-ray tube, which has three electron beams arranged in in-line form and in which a superior beam-spot diameter is obtained on a fluorescent screen, by regulating each of the focal distances of electromagnetic lenses corresponding to the center beam and the side beams of the cathode-ray tube independently by means of each field-shaping equipment. CONSTITUTION:A field generator 4 made of a cylindrical permanent magnet, which is symmetrical about the axis of a solenoid focusing type cathode-ray tube, is installed on the fluorescent screen side of a cathode, a first grid and a second grid which are provided at the back end of the neck part of the cathode-ray tube. A field shpaing equipment corresponding to the generator 4 is provided for each of three electron beams. That is to say, a magnetic yoke 31 used as a field shaping equipment for a center beam, and magnetic yokes 32 used as field shaping equipments for side beams are provided so that each of them surrounds each of the three electron beams. Here, the thickness of the yoke 31 surrounding the center beam is made larger than that of the yokes 32 surrounding the side beams, so that the focal distances of electromagnetic lenses are regulated by the field shaping equipments. As the result, a superior beam-spot diameter can be obtained on the fluorescent screen.
