Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate the evil effect on a copy, by setting a magnet which generates small and large magnetic fields at the specific positions to form a specific magnetic pattern and accordingly increasing the eliminating efficiency of the toner particles as well as minimizing the scattering of the residual toner. CONSTITUTION:The fixed magnets 20-26 are distributed radially within a rotary sleeve 4 so as to be adjacent to the inner surface of the sleeve 4. Thus the magnetic carrier particles 3 are formed into a brush-shape. As a result, a strong magnetic field is generated from a magnet 20 at the position closest to a cleaning region 11, a magnet 21 at the position 13 where the toner particles 2 and the carrier particles 3 are supplied and a magnet 22 at the position near a toner particle removing roll 9 respectively. Other magnets 23-26 generate the the weak magnetic fields. The magnets 20-26 are distributed with the prescribed angles theta1-theta7 respectively to form a specific magnetic pattern. The particles 2 which are absorbed to the particles 3 at the region 11 are held on the surface of the sleeve 4. This holding force does not exist at all in an exfoliation region 14 where the same magntic poles are set adjacent to each other. As a result, the particles 2 drops into a housing by gravity.
