Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure dissolved oxygen simply, by aerating air to a liquid to be measured and measuring the concentration of oxygen of a gas after aeration. CONSTITUTION:A blastipipe 2 is provided so as to open at a suitable depth in a liquid reagent to be measured 1 and air is aerated. The concentration of oxygen of a gas after aeration is measured by an oxygen detector 3 attached to the upper part of a cylindrical vessel 4. In the case where sample water is equillibrated with oxygen in air, e.g. when the concentration of dissolved oxygen is 9.76ppm at 15 deg.C, the concentration oxygen in the air passing through the sample water is not varied and dissolved oxygen is bubbled out in a gas phase at 21% oxygen concentration after passing through the sample water. In the case where the concentration of the dissolved oxygen in the sample water is low, dissolution of oxygen is carried out at the time of passing through the sample water and dissolved oxygen is bubbled out in the oxygen concentration lower than 21%. For example, in the case where the concentration of dissolved oxygen is 4.88ppm at 15 deg., the concentration of oxygen of the gas in an equillibrium state is 10.5% and the value in accordance with the concentration is detected by a detector.
