Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the closeness of contact between a metallic plate and a dielectric plate and enhance a noise-preventing effect by a method wherein a composite plate consisting of a metallic base plate and a dielectric plate is used for a rotor electrode, and punching is conducted so that a burr generated on the metallic plate after the punching is bent to the opposite side of the dielectric plate. CONSTITUTION:When producing a rotor electrode 3 which is integrally fixed to a rotor 5 on a cam shaft 2 rotated synchronously with the engine revolution, a conductive metallic plate to constitute the metallic base 3A and the dielectric plate to constitute a dielectric body 12 are adhered to each other by an adhesive to produce the composite plate. Next, the composite plate is punched in the shape of the rotor electrode by a press punching device, in which case the place is set so that the dielectric body 12 is located on the punching-out side. Accordingly, the bur 19 generated on the metallic base 3A after the punching is bent to the opposite side of tge dielectric body 12, and the bur 20 of the dielectric body 12 making contact with the base 3A is bent to the base 3A side, so that the base 3A and the body 12 are brought into close contact with each other without generating any gap at the interface thereof.
