Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce installation spaces through unitization of bearings and driving mechanisms respectively by driving a pair of rolling rolls with respectively separate motors. CONSTITUTION:A pair of rolling rolls 11a, 11b are driven respectively by separate driving motors 12a, 12b, and the need for mechanisms of transmitting the rotating and driving force of one rolling roll to the other rolling roll which are provided with conventional rolling mills is eliminated. The bearing 14a, driving motor 12a and speed reducer 13a of one rolling roll 11a and the bearing 14b, driving motor 12b and speed reducer 13b of the other rolling roll 11b are respectively unitized A, B. The gap between the rolls 11a and 11b is adjusted by adjusting the gap between both units A and B, whereby the need for universal joints is eliminated, and the entire unit is made compact.
