Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the leakage of NH3 even if NH3 is injected in a slightly excessive amount and to obtain a high denitrating ratio as well as to avoid secondary environmental pollution by connecting a rotary cylinder having a desorbing zones and filled with an NH3 absorbable and desorbable denitrating catalyst to a denitrating reactor.
CONSTITUTION: A rotary cylinder 2 having plural radial partition plates provided to the inside thereof and filled with an NH3 adsorbable and desorbable denitrating catalyst is divided into two chambers by partition plates 10, 11 and the one half chamber is used as a desorbing zone 12 and the other half chamber as an adsorbing zone 13. Each sections of a catalyst filling layer divided by partition plates alternately passed through the desorbing zone 12 and the adsorbing zone 13 by the rotation of the cylinder 2. When an untreated gas is introduced into the desorbing zone 12, it is contacted with the catalyst layer saturated and adsorbed with NH3 moved from the adsorbing zone 13 and NH3 generates denitrating reaction with an exhaust gas to be desorbed and consumed. In the exhaust gas issued from the desorbing zone 12, NH3 is mixed from a pouring pipe 24 provided to a conduit 21 and the resulting mixture is introduced into a denitrating reactor 9. The exhaust gas after denitration is introduced into the adsorbing zone 13 through a conduit 22 and the unreacted NH3 in the exhaust gas is adsorbed by the catalyst layer.
