Abstract

PURPOSE:To intend proper connection and improvement of torque performance in an electromagnetic clutch which is used for intermittent operation of a compressor of a car cooler by caulking a rotor and a pulley with a rivet and forming a clearance groove in the head of the rivet so as to prevent the rivet from interference with a stator. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 4 is attached to a compressor front housing via a bearing 8 and driven by a rotational force of a belt which is bound on a pulley 5. When a voltage is applied on a coil 3, a magnetic circuit is made up by the rotor 4, a stator housing 1a, and an armature 11 and the revolutional force of the rotor 4 is transmitted to a compressor shaft via the armature 11, a rivet 10, a hub plate 9, a rubber 12 and a hub 13. Thereafter, the rotor 4 and the pulley 5 are fastened with each other by caulking a rivet 6 and a clearance groove 4a is made in the head of the rivet 6. This provides a fine dimension A and ristricts a magnetic resistance in a clearance between the rotor 4 and the stator 1a to the minimum, so that the required purpose may be achieved.
