PURPOSE:To smooth the rotation of a rotary body, by supportint the rotary body at the circular peripheral part of its one end rotatably on a circular supporting part and supporting the body at its other end almost in point contact to reduce the friction resistance between the rotary body and each supporting part. CONSTITUTION:When the invention is embodied as the worm wheel support mechanism of an automobile rearview mirror tilting device, an operating rod 19a provided to tilt a mirror holding plate 3 around a spherical part 4 is inserted in a worm wheel 11a integrally provided with a flange 14 engaged with a worm 10a, which is driven by a motor. The threaded part 20a of the operating rod 19a is engaged with a U-shaped wire spring 24a secured on a casing 2, so that the operating rod can be moved back and forth in the axial direction when it is turned. The wheel 11a is supported at one end by the circular recessed part 17a of the casing 2 and at the other end 15a by a conical protrusion 18a.
