PURPOSE:To manufacture a high tensile band material with superior tensile strength and elongation by subjecting a slab obtd. by adding a specified amount each of C, Si and Mn to Fe to cold rolling and box annealing under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:A slab consisting of, by weight, 0.25-0.35% C, <=0.50% Si, 0.40-1.20% Mn and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is hot rolled to form a hot rolled steel strip, and the strip is cold rolled at 40-80% draft. The resulting cold rolled steel strip is box-annealed by heating and holding at 480- 530 deg.C for 1-3hr. Thus, a superior high tensile band material with >= about 80kg/mm.<2> tensile strength and >= about 8% elongation is obtd. always stably.
