Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption and to eliminate the need for a squeltch changeover switch, by interrupting the power supply to a microwave power amplifying section at squeltch operation. CONSTITUTION:A microwave signal received at an antenna 1 is converted into an intermediate frequency band at a converter 11 and applied to an AGC voltage generating circuit 12 in common use for intermediate frequency amplifier. If a reception signal is interrupted owing to any failure, a suitable AGC voltage is not generated in the said circuit 12 and a squeltch detecting circuit 18 is operative. At this state, the point (a) is at zero potential, a transistor TR1 of a control section 21 turns off and the potential at the point C is zero. Thus, since the power supply to a microwave power amplifier 17 is interrupted, the amplifier 17 at this state (at failure taken place) consumes no power. At a normal state, a microwave signal received at the antenna 1 is heterodyne-relay-amplified and transmitted to a succeeding reception section via an antenna 2.
