Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the intermodulation distortion and the linearity of input and output, by compensating the fluctuation of the operating point of amplifier due to the change in a junction temperature, through the detection of an output of a transistor linear amplifier and the application of compensation to a base bias power supply.
CONSTITUTION: An output voltage V0 of a transistor type class AB linear amplifier 1 is inputted to a compensation voltage detecting circuit 2 with a transistor inner loss, and the envelope of an output is obtained with the linear detection and a base bias voltage VOC to be compensated with the correction of the coefficient and the second order approximation is obtained. Further, the base bias voltage is inputted to a time constant circuit 3 to obtain a correction voltage V'OC in response to the fluctuation of inner loss of a transistor. On the other hand, a forward voltage VD in response to the temperature of a heat sink is obtained from a temperature sensor diode 4 and a base bias compensation voltage VBC is obtained by adding the voltage VD to the V'OC. This voltage is subtracted from a bias constant voltage VBS to obtain a base bias application voltage VBE, which is applied to the base of transistor, and the operating point of the transistor can be compensated.
