Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent cracking and facilitate assembly/disassembly by forming a pawl and an accomodator part, having bosses at its both sides, on a disc fixed to a diaphragm retainer plate and forming notches in the power piston.
CONSTITUTION: In a housing 11 for a brake booster 10, radially oriented notches 6 are provided in the flange part 1a of the power piston 1 at a certain circumferential spacing, and two or more pawls 3a are provided on a disc 3 fixed to a diaphragm retainer plate 20 and, at the part mating with these pawls, an accomodating recess 2 is formed with boosses 3b through tapered parts 5a, 5b. The pawls 3a are detained at the front part of the flange 1a and located in the recess 2, and the flange part 1a is pinched by restraining the circumferential movement with the tapered parts 5a, 5b. Further, the pawls 3a are put into phase alignment with the notch 6 by reliatively turning, and upon disassembly the installation shall be made following the procedure reversely.
