Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity for using a speed changer and perform high efficient operation, in a power accumulating device of variable inertia unit accumulating surplus electric power, by controlling moment of inertia of a rotary unit with a quantity of liquid filled in the rotary unit. CONSTITUTION:A rotary unit 1, arranged with moment of inertia to a minimum by all evacuating liquid in the inside, is started its rotation by connection of a power source to an asynchronous induction machine 11, if a unit reaches a rated speed, liquid is started to be filled to a filling port 5 for increasing accumulation power by inertia. This liquid 4 is distributed to annular shape in the peripheral portion, rotated together by action of separator plates 9, equalized unbalance of its liquid quantity by comminication action through notched parts 10 of the separator plate and performed quiet rotary operation. In this way, moment of inertia is increased and accumulation power is increased. Further the liquid can be discharged by opening a discharge valve 7, if the liquid is opened and released to the direction reversely to the direction of rotation, stored energy is returned to the rotary unit 1 to operate the induction motor as a generator.
