Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce a reinforced plastic article in which reinforcing woven fabric is arranged at a proper position, by interposing reinforcing non-woven fabric between the reinforcing woven fabric in an injection metal mold and a resin-injecting opening.
CONSTITUTION: Reinforcing woven fabric 4 is set between injection metal molds 1 and 2, while reinforcing non-woven fabric 7 is set between the reinforcing woven fabric 4 and a resin-injecting opening 6. When a resin is injected through the opening 6 while sucking air from the metal molds, the resin penetrates into the non- woven fabric 7 and reaches the woven fabric 4 under the non-woven fabric 7. The resin flows along the surface of the woven fabric 4 into the space between the metal molds and penetrates into the lower part of the woven fabric 4. Consequently, the resin permeates uniformly into the reinforcing fibers without unevenness. If non- woven fabric 3 is additionally arranged under the woven fabric 4, the movement of the woven fabrric 4 toward the metal mold 2 due to the pressure of the injected resin can be inhibited, and the woven fabric 4 can be held at a proper position between the metal molds.
