Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow monitoring laser output required for the control and stabilization of the laser output, by setting a beam splitter on the outside of a laser resonator. CONSTITUTION:There are a laser active region, laser resonator 11 surrounding said region, beam splitter 15 of a transparent body by Fresnel reflection provided on the outside of this resonator, monitor output detector 16 measuring the reflected light 21 therefrom and laser excitation means 17. The output 22 from the monitor output detector and control signal 23 are compared to constitute for the negative feedback of the deviation amount thereof to the laser excitation means 17. For the beam splitter 15, anyone of NaCl, KCl, KBr is used. Besides, a reflection preventing film 26 is provided on the surface of the beam splitter opposite to the laser resonator to prevent the occurence of unstability by double beam interference.
