Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent crystallization of Se and to obtain a good picture image over a long period by supplying Ag, Cu and their compounds or pulverized matter of alloy on the surface of an Se or Se alloy system photoreceptor to form the picture image. CONSTITUTION:Fine powder having <=100mum average particle diameter of one or more kinds selected among Cu, Ag and their compounds (CuO or the like) and the alloy is supplied on the surface of a photoreceptor 1 that provides a photoconductive layer comprising Se or Se alloy. The supplying is performed such that at a developing part 5, fine powder is added in a developing agent and the resultant is supplied, or at a cleaning part, a block 10 obtained by molding a solid-state lubricant such as zinc stearate and said fine powder is polished with a far bursh 9 and the resultant polished powder is supplied. Thus, a crystallization of Se and Se alloy in the photoconductive layer is prevented, the life of the photoreceptor 1 is prolonged and copies that exeed 40 thousands of sheets can be obtaind without occurrence of one such as slipping out whitely.
