Abstract

PURPOSE:To precisely calculate the true reaction current of a specified constituent to be quantified, by calculating the value of a background current from the product of the amount of variation of the reaction current just before enzyme being added and of a time required from the addition to the measurement of the total value of the reaction current. CONSTITUTION:The amount of variation of a reaction current per second for the period of 1-10sec just before enzyme is added to a sample is measured through an enzume electrode and a value thus obtained is multiplied by a time required from the addition of the enzyme to the measurement of the total value of the reaction current. The predicted value of the background current is calculated correctly from the product obtained the multiplication. When the total value of the reaction current is compensated by deducting the above value of the background current, the true reaction current of a specified constituent to be quantified is determined with high precision and thereby a composite constituent in the sample is quantified with high precision.
