Abstract

PURPOSE:To record images without the use of any photoreceptor by sticking a developer consisting of a magnetic material, a photoconductor and a binder over the entire surface of an electrostatically charged body to be recorded then irradiating the images thereto and sucking off the developer in the exposed parts. CONSTITUTION:A developer contg. 20-60pts.wt. ferromagnetic powder 12 such as Fe2O3, 30-70pts.wt. an inorg. or org. photoconductor and 0-50pts.wt. a binder within this range is prepd. The developer is prepd. by mixing the powder 12 with a binder soln. then removing the solvent, grinding the mixture and dispersing the particles thereof together with photoconductor powder 13 in a binder 11 or containing the ground particles of the mixture of the powder 12 and the binder in the composite matter 15 of the org. photoconductor 14 and the binder. This developer is electrostatically charged in a developing machine 3', is stuck uniformly on the corona charged 2' surface of a body to be recorded (paper or the like) 8' on a dielectric drum 1' or conductor drum 1'' and is irradiated 4' with images. The developer which has lost the electric charge in the exposed parts is sucked away 5' by a pump 6, and is recovered in the machine 3'. The rest is fixed 9' on the body 8'. In this way, the images are recorded without using any photosensitive drum.
