Abstract

PURPOSE: As the concentration of metals remaining in fuel oil is measured, after hydrophilic metal compounds are removed, the amount of water for washing the oil is controlled according to the deviation from the set value to remove metal compounds with very small amount of washing water efficiently.
CONSTITUTION: After washing water is pouted to fuel oil and they are stirred with stirrer 5, they are separated by the separator 6 into oil layer and washing water layer containing hydrophilic metal compounds such as sodium salts. Then, the metal salt remaining in the fuel oil is measure and the value is compared with the prescribed one in the device 11 and the control valve 14 for pouring washing water in the pipe 3 is operated to make the fluctuation in the metal concentration difference zero. Thus, the amount of water for washing is minimized.
EFFECT: The amount of water for washing fuel oil is sufficiently about 1%, about 3% at most and hydrophilic salts such as sodium or potassium salts are effectively removed.
