PURPOSE:To inhibit growth of bacterium and mold which are parasitic on a dedusting filter and an aluminum fin of a cooler and to eliminate a foul odor by holding a vaporizeable disinfectant and fungicide filled in a casing or a bag at a space between a suction grille of an air conditioner and a cooler. CONSTITUTION:An indoor unit body 1 of an air conditioner possesses a suction grille 3 in front of a decorative cover 2, and air sucked from the suction grille 3 passes through a ventilation pass consisting of a dedusting filter 4, a cooler 5 and a ventilation passage 7 and discharged from a blowing out grille 8. Then, a plastic casing 9 loaded with a vaporizable disinfectant or fungicide 9b wrapped by a bag 9a made of rice paper is adhered to four corners of the backside of the decorative cover 2 located between the suction grille 3 and the cooler 5 through a double sided adhesive tape 10. With this, growth of bacterium and mold which are parasitic on the dedust filter 4 and an aluminum fin of the cooler 5 is inhibited and a foul odor peculiar to the air conditioner is eliminated.
