Abstract

PURPOSE: To form oxide films of superior heat conductivity, heat resistance and electrical insulation characteristic by generating tensile stresses on the surface of a metallic plate in such a way not to develop compressive pressure in any direction and anodizing said surface then treating the same further with a polymerizable org. metallic compd.
CONSTITUTION: While the four sides of a metallic plate 1 consisting of Al, Ti, Ta and their alloys are pulled biaxially in parallel to the surface by means of oil hydraulic cylinders 2b via chucks 2a, an electrolyte 4 is filled in a cylindrical body 3 on the surface of the plate 1, and the surface is electrolyzed with the plate 1 as anode and a suitable conductor 5 as cathode, whereby the material 1 is anodized. Both acidic bath and alkali bath are used as the electrolyte 4. After the material 1 is washed 1, tensile stress is relieved, and the anodically oxidized film is further immersed in a soln. prepd. by dissolving a polymerizable org. metallic compd. such as phenyl triethoxysilane in an org. solvent or the like to allow said compd. to impregnate and stick on the micropores and the surface of the oxide film, after which the plate is dried and heated to polymerize the compd.
