Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce scatters between parisons, enhance stretch blowing properties and obtain the titled container with uniform product quality by a method wherein stretch blowing is conducted within a specified period of time after heat-treating and quenching a thermoplastic polyester made parison in specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:Before stretch-blowing the parison obtained by injection-molding or extruding a thermoplastic polyester containing ethylene terephthalate as a main constituent, the parison is heat treated at a such temperature T1 for a such period of time t1 as to satisfy the formulasI, II, where T1 is the heat treating temperature ( deg.C) and t1 is the heat treating time (sec). Next, the parison is qunched to a temperature T2 deg.C lower than the glass transition temperature Tg of the polyester, and then within such a period of time T2 as to satisfy the formula III where T3 is the holding temperature ( deg.C) of the parison after the quenching treatment, T3<Tg; t2 is the holding time (hr), the parison is subjected to stretch blowing to obtain the objective container.
