Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the accuracy of finishing and obtain smooth finished surface by a method wherein a bar electrode is rendered to rotate and slant in the equipment, which machines various configurations by feeding work piece three-dimensionally to the bar electrode. CONSTITUTION:A table 19, on which the work piece 2 is set, is fed toward the X-axis and Y-axis directions by means of motors 20 and 21 respectively and rotated about C axis by means of a motor 22. A worm wheel 6, on which the holder 16 of the electrode 1 is supported by a bearing 11 so as to be able to rotate by means of a motor 15, is provided in a casing 5 fixed to a main shaft 3 so as to be able to pivot by means of a motor 10. The respective motors 10, 15, 20, 21 and 22 are controlled by means of a numerically controlling device 29 in order to slant the electrode 1 so as to coincide with the taper of the configuration to be obtained by machining and at the same time to rotate the electrode 1 so as to prevent the uneven wear of the electrode 1 from occurring.
