Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize the quick detection for the position of an image and to decrease the processing time, by binary coding a video signal with a certain threshold value and at the same time counting the clocks of the video signal and then storing the contents of the count value in the front and rear edge timings of the binary coded signal. CONSTITUTION:A subject 2 is detected by a solid state image pickup element 1, and a video signal 12 is transmitted in series for each picture element and synchronously with a transfer clock 3. The signal 12 is compared with the threshold value 5 through a comparator 5, and the binary coded signal 13 is supplied to a timing circuit 7. The circuit 7 detects the front edge of the signal 13, and the storage command pulse is applied to a storing circuit 8. Then the count contents of a counter circuit 6 that counted the clocks 3 is stored in the circuit 8. After this, the rear edge of the signal 13 is detected by the circuit 7, and the storage command pulse is applied to a storing circuit 9. The count contents of the circuit 6 is stored in the circuit 9. Thus the front and rear edges of a video signal can be detected in a short time to decrease the processing time.
