Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the cooling properties of the engine without enlarging a case by a method wherein a passageway detouring the flow of the suction air between the inlet port and the outlet port of the case is provided in the suction air cooling device between the engine and a supercharger. CONSTITUTION:The suction air cooling device C is provided betwen the diesel engine a and the supercharger b. A cooling water passageway 2 is provided in the case 1 equipped with the inlet port 3 and the outlet port 4 and the substantially U-shaped passageway 16 is formed in the case 1 from the inlet port 3 to the outlet port 4 by a bulk-head 14. The air is flowed detouring from the inlet 3 to the outlet 4 and is cooled effectively by contacting with the cooling water passageway 2 uniformly. Thus, the cooling properties of the engine may be improved without enlarging the size of the case.
