Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a three-dimensional brilliant metallic decoration by putting hot stamping foil with a vapor deposited metal on letters or a pattern heat transferred on a glass surface through a base film and by pressurizing the foil.
CONSTITUTION: A thick printed layer 2 with desired letters or a desired pattern is formed on an easily peelable base film 1 of polyethylene terephthalate or the like by silk screen printing or other method to obtain a transfer film 3. At this time, printing ink contg. epoxy resin or the like with high adhesion to glass as a principal component is used. The film 3 is put on a glass surface 4 preheated to about 40W100°C, and by pressurizing the back side with a heating roll, the printed layer 2 is transferred and fixed on the glass surface 4. Hot stamping foil is then put on the transferred printed layer 2' immediately after the transfer and pressurized with a heating roll to form a brilliant metallic transferred body 5.
