Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve always stable tracking control, by integrating a tracking error signal at an integrating network having sufficiently longer electric discharge time constant and performing a tracking control with the integrated voltage at the point of time when a dropout takes place. CONSTITUTION:A reading beam from a laser light source 1 is condensed on a track of a disc 4 by an objective lens 3, and the reflected light is made incident to a photodetector 7 via a half mirror 3. The output of photosensors 7A and 7C is applied to an adder 8 and the output of photosensors 7B and 7D is applied to an adder 9. The output is applied to an adder 10 and a subtractor 11 and a reproducing RF signal and tracking information are respectively obtained. The tracking information is held at a sample holding circuit 13 with a pulse from a sampling pulse generator 14 with the reproducing RF signal phase-shifted at a phase shift circuit 12 and applied to a tracking driving mechanism 6 via an integration network 16, a changeover switch 15 and an amplifier 17. Since the integrating network 16 with longer time constant is used, always stable tracking control can be achieved.
