Abstract
PURPOSE:To omit members and devices and to facilitate maintenance and control considerably by incorporating a laser unit in a vacuum casing and making the same movable selectively for the plural surfaces to be corrected balance. CONSTITUTION:Laser beam 10 is projected from the outside through the transmission window 16a of a vacuum casing 3a in parallel to the axial center of a rotating body 1, is deflected orthogonally by a reflecting mirror 14 and is focused to the surface of the body 1 by a condenser lens 15. In accordance with the signals from a vibrometer 5 and a sensor 8 for detecting the number of revolutions, the magnitude and phases of the quantity of unbalance is calculated with an arithmetic device 7, and the quantity of laser irradiation is commanded to a laser controller. The controlled laser light 10 enters the inside of the casing 3a through the window 16a and cuts off the surface of the body 1 in conformity with the calculation, thereby correcting the unbalance. To move the laser unit in required axial directions, it is moved by a motor 18a, by which the irradiating position is moved. A protecting device 17a for the optical system is moved simultaneously to prevent the contamination of the optical system devices.
