PURPOSE:To adjust the capacity while keeping the maximum efficiency and improve the efficiency of the whole plant by shifting passage regulating plates provided upstream and adjacent to stator blades in relation to the position of the stator blades so that the passage area upstream the stator blades is varied. CONSTITUTION:Passage regulating plates 7 are provided upstream and adjacent to stator blades 4, and since the passage regulating plates 7 are divided into two in a circular direction, they can be shifted in a radial direction in relation to the position of the stator blades 4. By shifting the passage regulating plates 7 in the radial direction as shown in the figure, for instance, when guide plates 6 attached to the stator blades 4 and guide members 8 attached to the passage regulating plates 7 are overlapped each other the size of the passage is made the maximum, and as the passage regulating plates 7 are shifted in the radial direction the passage area is reduced. Thus, the passage area upstream rotor blades 3 can be varied to adjust the capacity, and the efficiency of the plant can be improved.
