Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain energy-saving effect, by driving a generator and a turbine by utilizing the cold and exothermic energy of boil-off gas. CONSTITUTION:heating medium 14 condensed by a heat exchanger 13 is evaporated in a heater 16 by cooling water 18 supplied from a main engine 17 after raising the pressure of the heating medium 14 condensed at the heat exchanger 13 by means of a pump 15. Heating medium 14 thus evaporated enters into an expansion turbine 19 and drives a generator 20 by the energy recovered by the turbine 19. Low-pressure gas of the hating medium 14 discharged from the expansion turbine 19 is carried into the heat exchanger 13 and condensed therein. By thus repeating the above processes, electric power can be generated in an energy-saving manner through utilization of the cold of the boil-off gas 11.
