Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure temps. remotely with good measuring functions and transmission characteristics by disposing a phosphor in an atmosphere to be measured of temp., irradiating the 1st excitation light thereto and utilizing the glittering phenomena by the 2nd excitation light irradiated like pulses thereto. CONSTITUTION:A phosphor is disposed in such a way that the temp. of a measuring object is transmitted thereto. The 1st excitation light is irradiated continuously to the phosphor and the 2nd excitation light is irradiated like pulses thereto. The temp. of the measuring object is measured in accordance with the correlation of the light glittered and emitted by the 2nd excitation light. For example, when the 1st excitation light is irradiated from a light source 2 to a phosphor 1 through an optical transmission device 4, the fluorescence 5 generated by this is conducted through an optical transmission device 6 to a detector 7. The 2nd excitation light is irradiated from a light source 8 through the same optical system, and a glittering phenomenon is produced by this. The afterglow characteristics thereof depend upon the temp. of the phosphor 1, that is, the temp. of the object to be measured.
