Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the rigidity of copying member, by detecting the floating of a free end, after one end of a copying member carried on a floating preventing roller and a support stand is pushed down unidirectionally downward with a forcing plate and carried for a prescribed distance from the support stand. CONSTITUTION:A copying member 36 is carried between a carrying support stand 37 and a floating preventing roller 38. The copying member 36 passing through the support stand 37 is pushed down compulsively for one end with a forcing plate 39. In case of the copying member with strong rigidity, a free end 366 of the copying member is bent upward. The detection of repulsion is made by a detection element 42 for the signal from a transmitting signal element 40. Further, this detection is operated when the tip of the copying member 36 is operated with tip position detecting means 41 and 43.
