Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of smoke, by opening an auxiliary injection passage eccentrically to the center line of atomization by a fuel injection valve to cause only fuel particles to flow into a main chamber to heighten the ratio of utilization of air in the chamber. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary injection passage 5 is opened downstream to the center l of atomization by a fuel injection valve 7 so that only fuel particles distributed in the peripheral region of the atomization flow into a main chamber 6 through the passage 5 and then good combustion with a high ratio of utilization of air is effected in the main chamber. Since liquid fuel collides against the wall surface 1A of a swirl chamber near the auxiliary injection passage 5 so that the fuel is atomized, the combustion in the swirl chamber is also improved.
