Abstract
PURPOSE: In the preparation of a hydrocarbon decomposition gas, to reduce the generation amount of excess seasm, and to economize in the fuel consumption of gas turbine, by cooling a gas produced by thermal decomposition with air, using the air with raised temperature for preparing a combustion gas for a gas turbine.
CONSTITUTION: Hydrocarbons thermally decomposed to give a high-temperature decomposition gas, which is cooled, and is compressed by a decomposition gas compressor derived by a gas turbine, and distilled by a liquified hydrocarbon from a refrigerant compressor as a refrigerant, to prepare a hydrocarbon decomposition gas. In the operation, the decompostion gas at high temperature is subjected to heat exchange with air and cooled, simultaneously the temperature of the air is raised. The air with high temperature is used for preparing a combustion gas for a gas turbine to drive the decomposition gas compressor and the refrigerant compressor, to give the hydrocarbon decomposition gas. Energy is used effectively without exhausting the excess high-pressure steam to the outside of the system or consuming a let of fuel for heating the air for the gas turbine and raising the temperature.
