Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the quality of a quartz oscillator, by mounting two lead wires, which are fixed to a piezoelectric oscillating bar, to a round glass material having through holes and melting the glass material and the glass of a glass case mounted on the glass material by heating. CONSTITUTION:Junction materials having the resistance to heat of >=200 deg.C are used to connect two lead wires 15 and 16 at a constant interval to the base part of a quartz oscillating bar 5. A cylindrical glass material 20 having two holes where two lead wires 15 and 16 should be inserted is set to a jig 17 consisting of graphite or the like, and lead wires 15 and 16 are set to through holes 18 and 19 of the glass material 20. Next, a glass case 13 consisting of a glass which has a coefficient of thermal expansion equal to or aproximating that of the glass of the glass material 20 is mounted around the glass material 20. Electric power is supplied to the jig 17, and the glass material 20 and the glass of the glass case 13 are heated at the softening point or more to melt them, and thus the quartz oscillating bar 5 is sealed tightly in the glass.
