Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the drop of toner through an aperture part at the lower part of a toner hopper, by providing a pressing member which has a free reciprocal movement toward the longer side of the aperture part of the toner hopper plus a sealing member which has a free reciprocal movement toward the shorter side of the aperture part and furthermore a means that converts the reciprocal movement of the pressing member into that of the sealing member. CONSTITUTION:A toner supply device includes a sealing member 1, a pressing member 2, links 3 and 4, a toner hopper side plate 5, a toner supply roller 6, a toner scrape-off member 7 and the toner 8 respectively. The reciprocal movement of the member 2 is transmitted to the links 3 and 4, and the member 1 is converted into the reciprocal movement vertical to the member 2. Thus a slit- shaped aperture part is sealed up to prevent the drop of toner that is caused through the aperture part at the lower part of the hopper when a developing device is attached to and detached from a toner supply device.
