Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The 16-membered macrolide antibiotic substance YO-9010 (R is H) and YO-7625 (Y is group of formula II) of formulaI, having the following physical and chemical properties. White crystal; melting point, 138W142°C for 9010 and 133W137°C for 7625; specific rotation,[α]D22=-47.4° (C=0.95, methanol) for 9010 and [α]D12=-37.4° (C=1.5, methanol) for 7625; elemental analsis (%), C 61.36, H 8.72, N 1.76 (C38H62NO13)for 9010, and C 59.95, H 8.20, N 1.51 (C44H72NO17) for 7625; molecular weight, 741 for 9010 and 887 for 7625 (by mass espectrum), etc.
USE: Antibacterial agent for the prevention and remedy of infectious diseases caused by Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, or mycoplasma, and intermediate for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals.
PROCESS: The compound can be prepared, e.g. by culturing Streptomyces fradiae YO-9010 strain (ATCC 31846) or YO-7625 strain (ATCC 31845) in a nutrient medium, and separating and recovering the produced compound.
