Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of danger when an inspection is carried out, by providing a curved tongue piece which is folded toward a light source when a round shaft type object is put ito a light output part and fits to the outer side surface of the inserted object. CONSTITUTION:A light shielding device 1 having a toungue piece 2 is attached to the front face of an inserting hole 11 at a light output part 10 of a laser beam emitting device. A round shaft type inserting object 12 holding an optical fiber 13 at the center part is inerted into the part 10 through an aperture part of a front cover and while the light is shielded. The piece 2 is folded by the pressure of the object 12 to be inserted into the device 1. When the piece 2 is sufficiently inserted, it is folded by 90 deg. completely to fit close the outer surface of the object 12. The piece 2 slides the outer surface of the object 12 to be led into the hole 11 of an optical connector 10. Thus the laser beam, if produced before the insertion of the object 12, is shielded completely. As a result, no direct beam reaches an inspector although he or she observes the inside of the device to eliminate the danger.
