Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform quantity production of a shaft in light weight further at low cost, by plasticizing a metallic round bar of smaller diameter than a desired shaft diameter and expansibly forming flange parts, of outside diameter almost equal to the desired shaft diameter, and larger contour stepped parts. CONSTITUTION:A material 11 consisting of a metallic round bar of diameter c smaller than a desired shaft diameter d is plasticized to expansibly form flange parts 13 in such a manner that an external diameter is almost equal to the desired shaft diameter d and a distance between outside ends of the both flange parts 13 is in prescribed length l. Then large contour stepped parts 4 are protrusively formed by plastic forming to the outsides 11a from each flange part 13, and annular grooves 3 are formed intermediately between the large contour stepped parts 4 and the flange parts 13, simultaneously shaft supporting parts 5 of slightly smaller diameter are formed to the outsides of the larger contour stepped parts 4. Subsequently, knurling parts 7 are formed by rolling in the periphery of the large contour stepped parts 4, further stopper ring engagement grooves 6 are provided by cutting work in the shaft supporting parts 5.
