For example, a process signal 3 is inputted to a computer 1 via a process input and output device 2, the computer 1 detects the state change of the process signal 3 for message processing to achieve the print of message with a typewriter 7. If a power failure takes place, a process signal 4 for power failure detection is inputted to the process input and output device 2 with the conventional process signal 3, the computer 1 detects the process signal 4 for power failure detection to store information required for the print of message to the typewriter 7 to an auxiliary storage device 5. Until a prescribed time elapses, no print is made on the typewriter 7.
