Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an original from being fed obliquely, by providing an idler roll, which presses the original to a platen glass with its own weight, in the original read position or near this position on the surface of the platen glass. CONSTITUTION:A metallic shaft 17B is fitted into a white spongy urethane roll 17A to make a press roll 17, and the press roll 17 is brought into contact with a platen glass 1 in a read position 3 by its own weight. Consequently, an original 6 carried by a pinch roll 8 is pressed to the platen glass 1 by the press roll 17 and passes through the read position. The press roll 17 is an idler roll which is not concerned with the transmission of power and is rotated in accordance with the movement of the original 6 and does not generated an unnecessary stress for the original. The original 6 passing through the press roll 17 is ejected to an oringinal eject tray by a driving roll 11 and a pinch roll 12 provided in the original eject side.
