Abstract

PURPOSE:To set compensating characteristics simply, by memorizing the characteristics at ambient temperatures at least at two points in a signal converting device, and compensating the input and output characteristics of the signal converting device based on the memorised result and the output of temperature detecting device. CONSTITUTION:The input and output characteristics of a load cell 1 at the ambient temperatures of different two points or more are stored in a memory device 9. For this purpose, the outputs of an A-D converter 5 at the ambient temperatures are memorized under the state a material to be measured 3 is removed and under the state the material to be measured 3 having a specified weight is placed on a load cell 1. Thereafter an unknown material to be measured 3 is placed on the load cell 1. Then a digital computing device 6 reads the ambient temperature through the A/D converter 8, reads the values required for the compensation from a memory device 9, compensates the output of the A/D converter 5 by the read values, and displays 12 the weight of the material to be measured.
